How can we improve the iOS app?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Remapping options for iPad smart keyboard

Specifically, an option to remap caps lock to ctrl or esc

  2. Show licenses

It could be fine to show open source libraries licenses. I think you use xterm.js or hterm and probably other libraries.

  3. Importing fonts

A lot of people are suggesting that fonts like Fira Mono and Powerline are added to Termius. Termius doesn't need to be packaged with these fonts, but we would like to see that Termius can open TTFs and/or OTFs and import them.

  4. Redpark console cable

Any chance you can add support for console to lightning cables like the one that redpark makes? They have their own app but it isn’t as good as Termius

  5. Support for Multihop SSH tunnels or 'Host chains' as you guys call it

This is there in the Android version of Terminus. Miss it so bad in iOS.

  6. Swipe left on hosts (like in iOS Mail message list)

You should be able to swipe left or swipe right on the posts so that you can edit or do other changes to them quickly the current method of tap and hold or edit check then edit is unnecessarily long and too many tabs.

Also still need the ability to duplicate hosts (and not via open a connection THEN duplicating the session )

  7. Need debug log

I tried connecting to one of my servers with Termius, but the connection failed. The system log on the server said "no suitable primes in /etc/ssh/primes". I think that means Termius is attempting a protocol 1 connection instead of protocol 2. It would help in debugging things if there were an option to log the connection negotiation, as in the OpenSSH equivalent of "ssh -vv".

  8. Possibility to connect server through bastion host

    Use case:
VPN with server inside, server ip not accessible from outside (1.1.1.1).
Bastion host with accessible from everywhere ip (1.1.1.0).
Need to connect via ssh to server inside VPN without specifying key in bastion host.

    Work on desktop (Ubuntu):
    ssh-add -k id_rsa
ssh -A user@1.1.1.0 (connect to bastion)
    ssh user@1.1.1.1 (connect to server)

Possible work flows in that app:
    1) in "port forwarding" feature allow to specify "host from" (similar to "ssh -A -L [port to]:[host from]:[port from] name@[some host] command") to forward 22 port of 1.1.1.1 host to ex. host 127.0.0.1 and port 25 while in 1.1.1.0. Then…

  10. Terminal log

I think it will be great if I can view my last session log with commands and their output, for example if connection is unexpectedly closed.

  11. Assign host to snippets

Assign a set host to a snippet so you can run a snippet quickly without having to open a host first.

Can be used for things like restarting plex server, etc.

Possibly have it in the 3D Touch menu or in a widget.

  12. Port forwarding should have option to restrict to local host only

Currently, if I forward a local port in Termius, then *any* host that can connect to my iPad/iPhone (including the wide open Internet at certain places).

Could you please add the ability to restrict this the port binding to localhost only?

The Openssh client defaults to this behavior, as one typically doesn't want the Internet to access one's private resources.

    Thanks

  15. Allow Port Forwarding to restrict access to localhost (security)

Currently, Port Forwarding allows both the phone and anyone with the phone's IP to tunnel through SSH to the destination address. While this may be desirable in some circumstances, in most, it opens a security hole through a pre-secured tunnel into the destination network/host.

I would suggest that the default be to restrict access to the localhost, but give us a tickbox on the port forwarding setup page with the option to "Allow access other than localhost" for those that really do want that (unsafe) behavior. For example, if the endpoint is secured by other means.

    If it helps, SSH…

  16. Connect to AWS

It would be great if one could connect to Amazon AWS to get a list oft running EC2 instances to directly connect to them.
Since they regularly change their IP addresses upon scaling for example, it makes it hard to maintain a list in the app.

  17. Add back tick key

The tmux config on all the servers I connect to use the backtick (inverted comma) for keyboard shortcuts. It would be very useful if this were added to the keyboard.

    Hello,
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Termius has this feature but unfortunately it’s broken in current release. We’ll fix it with the next update.

For now you may use a workaround:
In Files app select the key file and press “share” button (the one that has the icon of a square and arrow, should be at the bottom-left corner) and press “Copy” in the sharing menu. Now you should be able to paste it in Termius in the New Key screen.

Here is the video example I’ve recorded for you:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q6iMYA0Y4rHBLqfGn8oYuVugvDUSHa01/view?usp=sharing

    Hope it helps

  19. BUTTONS

Definitely you HAVE to put this on yours to-do list

Snippets are fine but they aren't fast access buttons

Make a menu where you can organize in folder button that you push, run the script on it and return to you a result screen that you just put ok and that's it

To get the snippet work you have todo like 4 task

Take a look to and old ios app call "Simple SSH" which is not more update

You can actually do it better, can synchronize this buttons once they are done. So you aren't going to loose then…

  20. configure commands not only hosts

Configure commands that you can execute without even opening a terminal.
