How can we improve the Desktop app?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. clickable links

I'm using Termius for connecting to my VPS in a screen where irssi is running. Is there any way to make the links in irssi chat clickable?

  2. Using desktop app with just keyboard

Terminus should be usable without mouse/touchpad.
    Ie.:
    - access global tabs (hosts, sftp, ...) with keyboard shortcuts
    - navigation through lists with arrow keys (hosts, snippets, sftp) and selection with key (enter)
    - browsing in SFTP with arrow keys, pgup, pgdown, home, end, backspace, enter (opening selected file with external editor or popup context menu with ability to select items from it with keyboard); typing alphanumeric chars automatically engage search mode; tab to switch between left/right panel; keyboard shortcuts for changing drive, changing sorting column, copy, new folder, back/forward etc.
    - when snippets panel is opened search input should gain…

  3. BUG: Copy with ctrl+shift+c not working as expected

I've installed the app as a Snap package. When I try to copy something in the terminal with ctrl+shift+c it does not work unless I have the "Select text to copy & Right click to paste" feature enabled in Preferences -> Terminal. If this is, for some reason, necessary then maybe it should be made explicitly clear to avoid confusion.

  8. Let us take existing open tab and create a new window

When having a tab open, let us pull the tab out of the window like a chrome browser tab, creating a new window to allow a side by side window of two sessions at the same time. Having to flip back and forth between multiple session tab's to look at something is not very productive.

  10. Improve visual indication of active port forward

In the Port Forwarding tab, the only indication that a port forward is active is that the circle changes from light grey to dark blue. These colours are so similar that it's not at all obvious. It would be clearer if it changed a more suggestive colour (green?) or even have a little connected icon next to it.

It's just a minor thing, but would help Termius newbies like me understand what it's doing.

  13. Ctrl-2 should send a NUL character

On the excellent iOS version of Termius, and most other terminal emulators I’ve used, Ctrl-2 sends a NUL character. However, the Windows version of Termius does not (version 4.2.7 on Win10). Please make this work on Windows too.

Myself and several people I know use Ctrl-2 as their tmux/screen binding shortcut. Without being able to type a NUL character makes Termius a non-starter for me on Windows. I’ll sadly go back to venerable PuTTY until this is fixed.

  15. Add hierarchical/tree view of hosts

Add hierarchical/tree view of hosts, I currently have over 150 hosts in mobaxterm with multiple folder levels, the current list view and inability to clone/duplicate existing hosts are the only reasons why I haven't fully switched to termius.

  17. tmux multi line copy paste removes new line

I frequently work in tmux via Termius (Beta 4.2.7) on Win10.
I noticed that copying several lines of text from a tmux pane and pasting seems to remove new line characters on some lines. For example, if there are 10 lines of text maybe lines 3 and 7 will have new line removed at the end upon paste. I see the same in non beta version.

This doesn't seem to happen in non-tmux, but I work almost exclusively in tmux so not as many observations.

  18. resize stopped working on 4.2.7 (windows 10)

I used to be able before v4.2.7 to resize my window (and fonts) via ctrl followed by minus (-) or plus (+) to enlarge, respectively.
    hot keys are disabled.

  19. BUG: Mac OS Copy & Paste into MacMail not working

I've been using Termius for a while now, and generally its been working well. However, there is one slight annoyance, when I try and copy & paste into emails that I'm composing from MacMail, it doesn't paste for some reason. There is no error, it just doesn't paste.

When I copy & paste into another app, such as TextEdit or Word as examples, I am able to copy and paste. This however is slightly annoying that I need to copy & paste the same thing twice if I want to paste into an Email.

  20. Enter credentials for local terminal in settings?

On Mac OS X, "Local Terminal" shows up as an option in the Hosts list with the direction to add credentials in settings but I am unable to find where in settings to put in my credentials. Do these settings actually exist? And if so, can we make them more obvious in the settings screen?
