🗂 Groups

Dmitry Machulo Dmitry Machulo

You can categorize hosts with groups and tags for easy navigation and more.

You can add a host to a group, after the group has been created, in the host settings.

Groups can be used not only for orderliness but to define a set of defaults for newly created hosts in that group. Group defaults can be overwritten per-host if need be. Groups can also nest each other.

Some usage examples:

  • You may want to group hosts by their role, region, or client.
  • You may wish to define a default port for all the hosts in that group.
  • For safety, you could use the red theme for production servers, green for staging, and blue for development to prevent running the wrong command on a production server.
