Tags provide an additional way, besides groups, to arrange your hosts.

For example, you may wish to tag all Ubuntu servers, or servers belonging to a particular client if you are a freelancer or virtual servers versus dedicated servers. Keep in mind that multiple tags can be used. A descriptive set of tags will make it much simpler to search through a large list of hosts.

Tags are displayed next to hostnames on the Hosts screen.

Add tags to a host

  1. Right click a host and choose Edit.
  2. In the Tags field, type in a tag or choose one from the suggestions.
  3. Click Save.
  1. Tap and hold the host you wish to modify, then tap the 'pencil' icon at the top.
  2. Tap the Tags field, and then choose one of the following:
    1. On an iOS device, type in one or more tags, separated by a space or comma, or tap > to choose a previously created tag.
    2. On an Android device, tap + and type in a tag, or choose one of previously created tags. Tap βœ“, once you’re done.
  3. Tap Save or βœ“.

View hosts by tags

  1. Navigate to the Hosts screen.
  2. In the bar at the top, enter the name of the desired tag.

  2. Tap the Search box / icon at the top.
  3. Enter the name of the desired tag.

Edit a tag

  1. Navigate to the Hosts screen.
  2. In the Tags drop-down menu, click the pencil icon next to a tag.
  3. Specify a new name and click Save.
  1. Tap and hold a host.
  2. On iOS, tap > next to the Tags field, or the field itself on Android.
  3. Swipe a tag to the left and choose Edit (iOS) or pencil icon (Android) to specify a new name.

Remove a tag

  1. Navigate to the Hosts screen.
  2. In the Tags drop-down menu, click the trash icon next to a tag.
  1. Tap and hold a host.
  2. On iOS, tap > next to the Tags field, or the field itself on Android.
  3. Swipe a tag to the left and choose Delete (iOS) or the trash can icon (Android).
