Serial communication is the process of sending data one bit at a time, sequentially, over a communication channel or computer bus.

Note: Serial connections are not available in the Starter (free) plan.

Establish a serial connection

On iOS / iPadOS, you can establish a serial connection using Redpark's Lightning Console Cable (L2RJ45V3) or Redpark's USB-C Serial Cable (C4-RJ45V). These cables connect devices with a Lightning or USB-C port to the console port on network equipment. They are compatible with any brand of networking equipment that uses the RJ45 type serial port.

On Android, to establish a serial connection, you'll need an OTG converter, a USB cable with appropriate connectors, and your device must be OTG-compatible. (Most Android devices these days are OTG-compatible.)

  1. Connect your computer to network equipment (serial port).
  2. Choose the Serial connection option.
  3. Specify your console port configuration for baud rate, control flow, data bits, stop bits and parity in the appropriate fields. This info is usually available in the technical specification for your equipment.
  4. Tap Connect.

    Hi,

If support for Redpark’s C4-DB9V cable would be added to Termius for IOS, that would be tremendously helpful in connecting to older devices that may still use a DB9 serial port using an Apple IOS device. I have tested that this works absolutely fine on MacOS.
