Here's my two cents. If Termius had an upfront cost and then an annual sync service fee, I think it would be more palatable. Maybe $10 for the app (which is being generous imo, considering how immature it is compared to existing SSH terminals, which also happen to be free), and $5/year for sync.

But let's be honest. Even $5 a year is a little high considering just how little data and bandwidth actually needs to travel to Termius' servers. Your keys (if you choose to store them in Termius) would be the largest data syncing. Even then, unless you have hundreds or more, the data payload shouldn't even hit 1 meg.

From the bandwidth usage rates I've seen on cloud providers, that's way below the threshold for even charging fractions of a cent. So unless you were somehow spamming the sync feature to sync hundreds of thousands of times a year, you wouldn't even accumulate a gig of usage. Heck, even $1 would more than cover that much usage spread over a year.

Imagine a cloud provider charging $1 for a gig of bandwidth. They'd lose all their business.

Office 365 has the same $10/mo $100/yr pricing. Office, however, has quite a bit more value to match that price point; like a terabyte of cloud storage, sharing your benefits with others, more features than you can shake a stick at, etc.

By contrast, Termius offers razor-thin functionality and cursory convenience, none of the customizability of Office, disruptive updates, and so on. There's really no good justification for Termius' asking price.

I'd like to think my eyesight isn't bad, but that'd be false. I wear glasses. Each individual has their own visual strengths and weaknesses. Color perception is one of those. Sadly, some people are colorblind.

Termius Dark doesn't even define yellow for some reason; it's white. It's otherwise a fairly nice theme. The blue is way too dark in my opinion, but that's true by default in Putty as well. At least I can change that in Putty. No magenta either; it's red.

In my case, I don't trust Authy (another 3rd or 4th party) to keep my data safe. I'd like to retain control of my own means of 2FA as much as possible.

Like OP, I have a vault that handles passwords and 2FA.
